Rhyy shows public measurement and forecast data for the Rhine in Basel. The app and website do not collect account data or location data.

What the app uses

The native apps for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android load readings, forecasts, swim windows and community content from rhyy.ch. Your personal swim log remains exclusively on your device and is not sent to Rhyy. On a paired Android phone and Wear OS watch, the random app code is synchronized through the encrypted Google Play services Wear Data Layer.

No account and no location

You do not need to register. The app does not request GPS location and does not use advertising tracking.

Server and security logs

Each request may create technically necessary logs such as IP address, timestamp, user agent and URL on the server or upstream infrastructure. These logs are used for operation, troubleshooting and security.

Analytics

The website uses Matomo to understand usage at a high level and improve Rhyy. The native app does not include Matomo.

Rhyminder and feedback

If you voluntarily use Swim Crew, community votes, an email reminder or feedback, your information is used only for that feature. The app sends a random app code for these actions; feedback also sends the category, message, optional email and app language. The app code links anonymous actions and helps prevent spam.
